Tegoroczny Festiwal Języków Obcych w naszej szkole przebiegał następująco
Relacja z lekcji języka niemieckiego:
KLASY I:
Na lekcji języka niemieckiego uczniowie klas I zaprezentowali krótkie filmy, które przygotowali w ramach projektu pt. “Mega-Zuhause”. Realizacja tego projektu wymagała od uczniów przydzielenia ról: scenarzystów, aktorów, scenografów, kamerzystów i montażystów, a także oczywiście reżyserów.
Filmy zostały zamieszczone na platformie Teamsy, a ich przygotowanie pozwoliło uczniom na utrwalenie dotychczas poznanego słownictwa (w tym kolokacji), a także form i struktur gramatycznych.
KLASY II:
Uczniowie klas 2. zajmują się obecnie podczas lekcji języka niemieckiego tematem „Freundschaft” (Przyjaźń) i dlatego podczas kolejnego dnia festiwalu oglądali filmy oferowane przez mediatekę tv Kika, w których młodzi Niemcy wypowiadali się na temat przyjaźni. Po analizie ich wypowiedzi, a następnie streszczeniu, uczniowie dyskutowali w grupach, co dla nich jest ważne w przyjaźni i co właściwie stanowi jej istotę.
Lekcja filmowa miała na celu kształtowanie kompetencji audiowizualnych uczniów z wykorzystaniem mediów, co ogólnie zwiększa motywację do uczenia się języka obcego, a także umożliwia nie tylko „książkowe” poznanie mentalności mieszkańców danego kraju.
KLASY III:
W klasach III w trakcie lekcji j. niemieckiego, uczniowie zapoznali się z autentycznymi artykułami z czasopisma „Dein Spiegel”, które poświęcone były tematowi „Weltrekorde” i dotyczyły najbardziej niesamowitych osiągnięć ludzi i zwierząt. Tematyka ta związana jest z aktualnie omawianymi zagadnieniami na lekcjach języka niemieckiego. Uczniowie najpierw wybrali samodzielnie tematy, które ich zainteresowały, a następnie wyszukali w grupie inne osoby, które wybrały tę samą tematykę. W ten sposób powstałej grupie dokładnie omówili artykuł/y, wyjaśnili słownictwo i przedyskutowali temat. Potem udali się do pozostałych grup i zrelacjonowali tematykę wybranych przez siebie artykułów.
Podczas tej lekcji wszyscy mogli więc zapoznać się z najbardziej niesamowitymi osiągnięciami ludzi i zwierząt. I tak przykładowo największe gromady w królestwie zwierząt tworzy szarańcza pustynna składająca się z prawie 69 miliardów osobników. Dla porównania: na ziemi żyje (tylko) ponad 8 miliardów ludzi…
11.02.2024 klasa 1b otrzymała test sprawdzający wiadomości o Niemczech. O ile pytania dotyczące położenia, podziału politycznego na kraje związkowe nie sprawiały większego problemu, to pytania dotyczące współczesnej historii Niemiec już tak. Wątpliwości uczniów były związane m.in z datami powstania, zburzenia muru berlińskiego. Natomiast pytania dotyczące np. reformacji były dla niektórych z uczniów proste, ponieważ interesują się tym zagadnieniem.
14.02.2025 klasa 1b bawiła się językiem niemieckim, czytając tzw. łamańce językowe. Najpierw uczniowie ćwiczyli ich wymowę, następnie zaprezentowano je za pomocą promptera, zwiększając prędkość przesuwającego się tekstu. Temu ćwiczeniu towarzyszyło dużo zabawy i śmiech. W dalszej kolejności przygotowano uczniów do omówienia tematu nawyki żywieniowe uczniów niemieckich. Tym razem uczniowie biegając, mieli zapamiętać tekst i podyktować go grupie. Temat ten będzie kontynuowany po feriach.
Relacje z języka hiszpańskiego:
W pierwszym dniu festiwalu na lekcji języka hiszpańskiego uczniowie klas I mieli okazję poznać najważniejsze zabytki Hiszpanii – najpierw jednak musieli rozwiązać zadania i odnaleźć prowadzące do nich wskazówki rozsiane po całej szkole! Było trochę biegania…
W trzecim dniu festiwalu do zabawy z hiszpańskim zaprosiliśmy całą szkołę. Przez cały dzień można było poczuć klimat Andów lub zabawić się w tancerkę flamenco (specjalne pozdrowienia dla pana Michała W.): dzięki odważnym uczniom mającym ochotę na przebieranki korytarze stały się bardzo hispanocentryczne. Dodatkowo każdy mógł pobawić się w detektywa i wyśledzić 10 zabawnych hiszpańskich idiomów…
…które przydały się w dniu czwartym, gdy trzeba było rozwiązać mały teścik, by zasłużyć na słodką niespodziankę. Podeszli do niego nie tylko uczniowie z lektoratu hiszpańskiego!
Ponadto przez cały tydzień uczniowie podczas lekcji mieli okazję sprawdzić swoje umiejętności na ciekawym materiale audiowizualnym – podstawę lekcji stanowił nagradzany film krótkometrażowy „Catalina”.
Relacje z języka rosyjskiego:
Żaden Festiwal Języków Obcych w naszym liceum nie odbył się bez Szkoły Językowej Online Matrioszka!!! Tak też było i w tym roku szkolnym. W pierwszym dniu tej imprezy szkolnej klasa IV zgłębiała wiedzę zawartą w postach na stronie szkoły Matrioszka. To najlepsza okazja do utrwalenia sobie dotychczasowej wiedzy i nabycia nowych i przydatnych w życiu codziennym umiejętności. Kolejne spotkanie z najstarszymi uczniami w ramach Festiwalu również ”kręciło” się wokół zabaw i gier językowych. Tym razem połączyliśmy język Puszkina z językiem Szekspira i powtarzaliśmy materiał korzystając z Duolingo! I jeden i drugi język nie sprawiał uczniom trudności.
Środę na języku rosyjskim klasa III rozpoczęła od oglądania filmików na Youtubie- kanał WMatrioszce i w ten sposób przyłączyła się do tygodnia językowego. Autor video w naprawdę interesujący sposób opowiada o swojej przygodzie z Rosją. Tym razem obejrzeliśmy 3 filmy: Pytam o szkołę, hobby, podróże- rozmowy z młodymi w kawiarni, Która stacja metra w Moskwie jest najpiękniejsza?- z wizytą na stacji Majakowskiego i Pytam w Moskwie o zarobki i emerytury- rozmowy w centrum handlowym. Oprócz zrozumiałego dla nas rosyjskiego ! mogliśmy zobaczyć super wygląd jednej ze stacji- pełniącej również rolę schronu i być w pięknym sklepie! W piątek nastąpił cd. przygody trzecioklasistów z kanałem WMatrioszce. Tym razem słuchaliśmy wypowiedzi Rosjan o Polakach. Ich opinie o nas nie były takie złe, a nawet dobre…
Z kolei najmłodsi rusycyści z klas II rozpoczęli udział w Festiwalu od obejrzenia prezentacji przygotowanej przez ich koleżankę Antoninę Dobiegę. Prezentacja – niezwykle ciekawa – dotyczyła zwyczajów słowiańskich i mitologii rosyjskiej. Na zakończenie szkolnego święta języków obcych w naszej szkole uczniowie z klasy II natchnieni prezentacją Antoniny wzięli udział w konkursie plastycznym „Postaci z wierzeń słowiańskich”. Zwycięzcy otrzymają oceny celujące i bardzo dobre z języka rosyjskiego, a ich prace znajdą się na wystawie.

Relacje z języka francuskiego:
Uczniowie klas pierwszych zmagali się z łamańcem językowym pomagającym ćwiczyć płynność wymowy oraz umiejętność szybkiego zapamiętywania. Następnie sprawdzali swoją wiedzę z zakresu geografii Francji w formie Familiady, rywalizując ze sobą w grupach.
Uczniowie klas drugich zanurzyli się w kulinarny świat francuskich smaków. Poznawali wybrane przepisy francuskich specjalności począwszy od dań głównych, a na deserach skończywszy. Następnie przygotowali domowe przysmaki z przyniesionych produktów spożywczych. Uczniowie powtarzali również słownictwo z zakresu przerobionego materiału w formie kalamburów. Utrudnieniem było pokazywanie, a nie rysowanie na tablicy, wybranych haseł za pomocą gestów, mimiki. Uczniowie wykazali się swoją wyobraźnią, kreatywnością oraz przełamywali własną nieśmiałość.
Uczniowie klas trzecich poznawali tajemnice stolicy Francji na podstawie prezentacji „Pod dachami Paryża”. Rozmawiali o ciekawych, interesujących miejscach, zabytkach, które sami zwiedzali będąc w Paryżu i które są warte obejrzenia.
Uczniowie klas czwartych poznali historię obchodzonego 14 lutego la Saint-Valentin oraz celebrowanej jeszcze w średniowieczu l’amour courtois, tj. miłości dworskiej wyrażonej poprzez pieśni, wiersze czy gesty. Poznali słownictwo walentynkowe, charakterystyczne zwroty używane przez Francuzów czy idiomy miłosne. Dowiedzieli się, w jaki sposób jeszcze wyrażać uczucia, zamiast typowego je t’aime.
This year’s Foreign Language Festival at our school proceeded as follows:
Report from the German language lessons:
1st Grade:
During the German language lesson, students from the first grade presented short films they had prepared as part of the project titled “Mega-Zuhause.” The realisation of this project required the students to take on various roles: screenwriters, actors, set designers, cameramen, editors, and of course, directors. The films were posted on the Teams platform, and their preparation allowed students to reinforce previously learned vocabulary (including collocations) as well as grammatical structures.
2nd Grade:
The 2nd-grade students are currently learning about “Freundschaft” (Friendship) during their German lessons. On the next day of the festival, they watched films offered by the Kika media library, where young Germans shared their thoughts on friendship. After analyzing their statements and summarizing them, the students discussed in groups what they consider important in friendship and what the essence of it is. This film lesson aimed to develop the students’ audiovisual competencies using media, which generally increases motivation to learn a foreign language and provides an opportunity to understand the mentality of people from the target country, beyond just textbook knowledge.
3rd Grade:
During the 3rd-graders German language lessons, students explored authentic articles from the “Dein Spiegel” magazine, which focused on the topic of “Weltrekorde” and discussed the most incredible achievements of people and animals. This theme is related to the topics currently being covered in the German language lessons. The students first chose the topics that interested them and then found other classmates who had selected the same topic. In these groups, they thoroughly discussed the article(s), explained vocabulary, and discussed the topic. Later, they visited other groups and presented the content of the articles they had chosen. Through this lesson, everyone was able to learn about the most amazing accomplishments of people and animals. For example, the largest swarms in the animal kingdom are created by desert locusts, which consist of nearly 69 billion individuals. For comparison: there are (only) over 8 billion people on Earth…
On February 11, 2024, 1b class took a test to check their knowledge of Germany. While questions about its location and political division into federal states weren’t particularly difficult, questions about modern German history posed more of a challenge. Students had doubts, for example, about the dates of the founding and destruction of the Berlin Wall. However, questions on topics like the Reformation were easier for some students, as they are interested in this issue. On February 14, 2025, 1b class had fun with the German language by reading tongue twisters. First, the students practised pronunciation, and then they were presented with them via a teleprompter, increasing the speed of the text. This exercise was accompanied by a lot of fun and laughter. Next, the students were prepared to discuss the topic of German students’ eating habits. This time, the students had to memorize a text while running and dictate it to their group. This topic will be continued after the winter holidays.
Reports from the Spanish language lessons:
On the first day of the festival, in the Spanish language lesson, the first-grade students had the opportunity to learn about the most important monuments of Spain. However, first, they had to solve tasks and find clues scattered throughout the school leading to them! There was some running involved…
On the third day of the festival, we invited the whole school to have fun with the Spanish language. All day long, students could experience the atmosphere of the Andes or have fun as flamenco dancers (special thanks to Mr Michał W.). Thanks to brave students willing to dress up, the hallways became very “Hispano-centric.” Additionally, everyone could play a detective and track down 10 amusing Spanish idioms which were useful on the fourth day when they had to complete a small test to earn a sweet surprise. Students from the Spanish language class weren’t the only ones who participated!
Additionally, throughout the week, students had the opportunity to test their skills with interesting audiovisual material. The basis of the lesson was the award-winning short film “Catalina.”
Reports from the Russian language lessons:
No Foreign Language Festival at our high school has taken place without the Online Language School Matrioszka!!! This year was no exception. On the first day of the event, the 4th-grade explored the knowledge contained in posts on the Matrioszka school website. It was the perfect opportunity to reinforce their existing knowledge and acquire new, useful skills for daily life. The next meeting with the oldest students during the festival also revolved around language games. This time, we combined Pushkin’s language with Shakespeare’s and reviewed the material using Duolingo! Both languages didn’t pose any difficulties for the students.
The Wednesday Russian language lesson was started by the 3rd-grade by watching videos on the WMatrioszce YouTube channel, thus joining the foreign languages week. The video author interestingly shared his adventure in Russia. This time, we watched 3 films: “I ask about school, hobbies, and travel – conversations with young people in a café,” “Which Moscow metro station is the most beautiful? – visiting the Mayakovskaya station,” and “I ask about salaries and pensions in Moscow – conversations in a shopping mall.” Apart from understandable Russian, we could also see the amazing appearance of one of the stations, which also serves as a shelter, and visit a beautiful store! On Friday, the adventure continued as the third-grade students listened to Russians talking about Poles. Their opinions about us weren’t bad, in fact, they were quite good…
Meanwhile, the youngest Russian students from the 2nd grade started their festival participation by watching a presentation prepared by their classmate Antonina Dobiega. The extremely interesting presentation was about Slavic customs and Russian mythology. As the closure to the Foreign Language Festival at our school, the 2nd-grade students, inspired by Antonina’s presentation, took part in an art competition “Figures from Slavic Beliefs.” The winners will receive excellent and very good grades in Russian, and their works will be displayed at an exhibition.
Reports from the French language lessons:
First-grade students tackled tongue twisters to practice pronunciation fluency and quick memorization skills. After that, they tested their knowledge of French geography in the form of a Family Feud game, competing in groups.
Second-grade students immersed themselves in the culinary world of French flavours. They learned selected French recipes, ranging from main dishes to desserts. Then, they prepared homemade treats using the ingredients they brought. Students also revised vocabulary from the covered material through a game of charades. The challenge was to show, not draw, selected phrases using gestures and facial expressions. Students demonstrated their imagination, creativity, and overcame their shyness.
Third-grade students explored the secrets of the French capital through the presentation “Under the Roofs of Paris.” They discussed interesting places and monuments they had visited in Paris, which are worth seeing.
Fourth-grade students learned about the history of Valentine’s Day (la Saint-Valentin) and the, so called, courtly love (l’amour courtois) celebrated during the Middle Ages, expressed through songs, poems, and gestures. They learned vocabulary related to Valentine’s Day, typical expressions used by the French, and love idioms. They also discovered alternative ways to express feelings instead of the typical “je t’aime.”

This year’s festival inauguration took place in a particularly festive atmosphere, graced by the presence of the Director of the English Philology Program, Dr Marcin Sarnek, and the Deputy Director of the English Philology Program, Dr Hab. Iwona Dronia. During the inauguration, we listened to a lecture by Dr. Hab. Iwona Dronia titled “Barriers to Effective Cross-Cultural Communication.” Students from classes I-III participated in workshops on the Chinese language, titled “Chinese Isn’t That Scary: First Steps in Learning Chinese,” led by Dr. Katarzyna Banke-Ortowska and Dr. Katarzyna Knoll from the University of Silesia.
During the English language lesson, class 2c2 began a week-long marathon of declaiming Shakespeare’s Sonnet 18, and even enthusiastically sang it (!!!) (Valentine’s Day was just around the corner!!). We then took a virtual walk through London, guided by the charming Rick Steves.
With the class 3c2, we studied materials related to British accents and dialects, including “How to Speak with British Accents” and “How to Sound More British.”During the English language lesson with class 3e, we had the honor of welcoming Dr. Krystyna Sobecka from the University of Silesia, who led a class on the Civil Rights Movement in the USA, focusing on the history of African Americans—from slavery through the struggle for equal rights to modern times. Students learned about Rosa Parks and also the dream of Martin Luther King.
The 8th edition of the Provincial English Reading Contest “English with Treasure Island” took place for students from 7th and 8th grades of primary schools. A record number of students from 20 schools from our region participated. Over the course of 60 minutes, the participants had to demonstrate knowledge of the book Treasure Island and solve grammar and vocabulary tasks.
Selected students from classes I-III attended a lecture titled “Portuguese in Europe and the World” by Dr Hab. Konrad Szcześniak, a research associate at the University of Silesia. Fifth-year English Philology students presented workshops titled “Learning Grammar and Vocabulary: How Not to Like It,” showcasing several teaching methods useful in the process of effective language learning. In class 2c2, Shakespeare’s Sonnet 18 once again resonated, this time in its original language, through declamation and music. Next, we explored fascinating facts from the life and works of William Shakespeare during a cultural video screening.
Students from classes 2e and 2a participated in the conversational workshop “My Music Sounds…” where they had the opportunity to express their musical preferences and tastes. The exercises were combined with listening comprehension of one of Queen’s most exquisite songs, “Don’t Stop Me Now.”
During two English lessons, class 3c watched an episode of the detective series “Sherlock – A Study in Pink,”followed by an in-depth character analysis and study of the stylistic devices used. The session was preceded by vocabulary exercises related to the description of various forms of visual art.
The second edition of the school team contest for the best meme took place. During the contest, six teams of students from classes II and III showcased their creativity by producing captions for images related to the culture of English-speaking countries.
Selected students from classes I-III attended a lecture titled “Introduction to the Arabic Language” by Dr Dariusz Jakubowski, a research associate at the University of Silesia. Students from class 3e2 watched presentations prepared by their peers, learning about historical events depicted in selected musicals (W. Katolik – “Historical Events in Musicals”) and interesting facts about European languages (A. Dudziński and R. Strokosz – “Interesting Facts About European Languages”) and participated in a quiz to test their knowledge of selected words in British, American, and Australian English (T. Czekaj and T. Jarmołowicz – “The Same Language – Different Words”).
Students from 1a2 finished their multimedia presentations, which they independently prepared in English, giving them a chance to get to know one another better and practise their public speaking skills. In 2c2, the Grand Final of the Sonnet 18 Recitation took place, and (Sir) William Shakespeare must have been very proud of them!!!
Class 3e student Magdalena Biały conducted a fascinating assistant lesson on “How to Improve Your Accent in English.” Magda discussed the differences between Polish and English vowel pronunciation and explained how to correctly pronounce and practise distinctly English sounds. She also introduced us to the “schwa” sound.
Class 2b1 students conducted mini-lessons in their group. Zuzanna Wróbel spoke about the development of fantasy literature over the centuries, J.R.R. Tolkien’s role in popularizing the genre, and the cultural phenomenon of Harry Potter books (“The British and Fantasy”). Nina Aleksandrowicz, Julia Sambór, and Maria Zachariasiewicz dissected the phenomenon of “brainrot,” i.e., content created by social media users that falls under this category and whether it truly has as negative an impact as its name suggests (“Brainrot”).
As part of the Culture Corner series, students from class 1A1, Weronika Bereszko and Michał Grądek, conducted two fascinating historical lessons: “On King Richard III and Queen Victoria” and “Henry VIII and His Six Wives.”The second assistant lesson was concluded with a challenging multimedia quiz in the Blooket app.
Can Freddie Mercury’s song be transformed into a blank verse in Polish? This was something students from classes 2a2 and 2e2 discovered during a translation lesson. After the translating exercises, the students tested their knowledge of Freddie’s work through the multimedia game in the Lyrics Training app.
